Su-Ming Khoo

Su-ming Khoo is a Lecturer in Political Science and Sociology, and leads the Environment, Development and Sustainability (Whitaker Institute) and Socio-Economic Impact (Ryan Institute) Research Clusters at NUI Galway. Her research is on human rights, human development, public goods, development alternatives, decoloniality, global activism, and higher education.

She is currently Principal Investigator on the Irish Research Council (IRC-COALESCE) research project B-CAUSE (Building Collaborative Approaches to University Strategies against Exclusion) 2019-22. Collaborating with Prof Paul Prinsloo (UNISA, South Africa), this research project looks at the connections between quality and equity in Irish and African higher education and at ideas, institutional structures and pedagogies for quality higher education, which advance inclusive global citizenship.
