Background
I have over two decades of GCE experience, working mainly in the adult and community sector, for organisations such as LYCS (Lourdes Youth and Community Services), LASC (Latin American Solidarity Centre) and Comhlamh. I am particularly interested in regenerative sustainability and changemaking, that is, focusing on the intersection of human and planetary wellbeing and bringing a focus on inner dimensions (values, mindset, emotions and worldview) to the transition to a fairer, more sustainable future.
I am also an ethnomusicologist and song leader, and as well as combining singing and GCE/ESD, I train student and practicing teachers and other educators in how to use music and singing in their own work. Over the years I have contributed to published resources, designed curricula, sat on advisory committees and worked with a diverse range of learners from hard-to-reach marginalised communities to third level students.
I have degrees in Latin American Studies (BA) & Ethnomusicology (MA) and Climate, Justice and Sustainability (MA) and am a trained forest bathing guide, trauma informed holistic wellbeing trainer (Capacitar) and Active Hope facilitator. I also have considerable experience in the areas of migrant advocacy and community development/community building.
Current Projects
Through my initiative, Full Circle Change, I am now working on a freelance basis and am available to deliver in puts on ecological and climate justice, the wellbeing/post-growth economy, eco-anxiety, regenerative sustainability and regenerative wellbing. I can tailor my sessions to groups of all ages and weave GCE with singing, music and nature connection as appropriate.
