BACKGROUND
Paula Grace is a passionate educator with a range of experience in the design, delivery, management and promotion of Development Education in a variety of settings.Her aim is to promote awareness for change particularly in the Post-Primary school setting but also in Community and Third Level settings.
Paula has designed, delivered and managed Justice and Peace Programmes for more than 20 years, in the large, multicultural secondary school where she is based. This includes design and delivery of several Transition Year Development Education modules. She also founded and promotes a student volunteer Justice group which, among other achievements, was awarded first place in the National Trocaire Game Changers Development Education competition, and second in the International Educational Games Competition (IEGC) 2019 at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).
Paula’s overseas work includes significant experience with Irish Aid both at community and university level in El Salvador where she designed and delivered an outreach education programme for Community Women Leaders, taught on a Post Graduate programme on Gender and Equality at the National University, and worked as an educator in a sex workers collective.
Paula has also worked in partnership with education networks, particularly the Loreto Trust, National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) and a variety of NGOs.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Full time teacher at Loreto Secondary School, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin including the development of Transition Year Development Education modules. Promoting student volunteer Justice groups.
