Mind the Gap

'Mind the gap' has over 15 years experience of facilitating development education and global justice workshops and performances for national schools, Secondary schools, Youthreach and youth organisations. The programme uses arts based approaches to explore complex social and environmental issues.
Aiming to make the sessions experiential and accessible to all.
The aim is to promote understanding, empathy and inspire active citizenship!
Examples of approaches include:

  • identity/citizenship/privilege explored via flag designing,
  • exploring Human Rights via clay sculpting and/or Haiku creation.
  • discussing; human migration, refugees and the Direct Provision system in Ireland with Somalian, mother, women's rights activist and global peace lecturer Nura Hagi. (Available in person and on-line).
  • 'Building back better' reflective conversation on the experience of Covid and lockdown. Defining personal and community lessons learned and prioritising the way forward. 

​Over the last fifteen years the programme has been supported by and collaborated with: Irish Aid, Worldwise Global Schools, Self Help Africa, Trocaire, Fairtrade Ireland and Concern Worldwide.
