Dr. Benjamin Mallon is Assistant Professor in Geography and Citizenship Education in the School of STEM Education, Innovation & Global Studies in the Institute of Education, Dublin City University. He teaches on initial teacher education modules which focus on geography education, local studies, children’s rights and peacebuilding education, with a particular focus on sustainability and global issues.
Ben's research currently explores pedagogical approaches which address conflict, challenge violence and support the development of peaceful societies. His previous research has explored models of in-service teacher education to support global citizenship and education for sustainability. Ben sits on the Editorial Board of Policy and Practice: A Development Education Review and is a member of the IDEA National Council.
