Alive

BACKGROUND

ALIVE is NUI Galway’s dedicated programme to connect students with volunteering opportunities, allowing students to gain valuable experience and help out their local community and community organisations to post projects they need help with and get skilled and eager volunteers. ALIVE harness, support and reward students’ voluntary activity across NUI Galway university campus, Galway city, and wider communities to develop their own practical skills and civic awareness.

CURRENT PROJECTS

ALIVE partners over 350 non-profits in local and national projects. Their three current projects include:

University of Sanctuary: The University of Sanctuary initiative at NUI Galway aims to increase public awareness of International Protection, migration and Traveller-specific matters, in an effort to address the low levels of participation of underrepresented groups in third-level education.

Galway National Park City: The Galway National Park City is a project that aims to transform Galway into a National Park City, where the natural world is a fundamental part of its ethos and infrastructure.
